Upcoming Events –

MEA’s Center for Leadership & Learning has new professional development offerings, and MEA members who participate can choose to receive SCECHs for certificate renewal.

  • Book Study Series – The department kicks off its next book study series on Sept. 20, featuring the title Disability Visibility. The book study will be held on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Attendees must be a member in good standing and will need to purchase their own book for the study.
  • Virtual Professional Development – A series of virtual professional development offerings have been scheduled to address an increase in student verbal and physical assaults against staff which many districts are experiencing. Sessions will be held over Zoom on Sept. 13, Oct. 3, Oct. 5, Dec. 5 and Dec. 7. Find full descriptions of the sessions and register for the ones you are interested in attending.


Substitute Teaching: The Roadmap to Success

Changes to the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness program (PSLF)  have
resulted in thousands of educators getting relief from student loan debt. Did
