State Sen. Hoon-Yung Hopgood is hosting a townhall in Taylor on Tuesday, Feb. 27, regarding the recently introduced “TeA+chers for Michigan” legislation. These 22 bills include key pieces of legislation about preparing, attracting, and retaining Michigan’s best educators.
“Let’s face it: too many students nowadays are not receiving the high-quality education that they deserve, and a large part of that is because school administrators have been forced to cram more students into classrooms with less teachers,” says Hopgood in the event’s invitation. “That’s why I’ve worked with top-tier educators from across the state to design a revolutionary package of 22 bills called TeA+chers for Michigan — and now I would like to discuss it with you.”
Hopgood, who is the Democratic member of the Senate Education Committee, will be joined by other lawmakers, education experts and community leaders at the townhall, which will be held at Taylor City Hall (23555 Goddard Road) from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27.
