ACT NOW: Senate Sets Rare Saturday Session to Address Schools Reopening
EAST LANSING – The following statement can be attributed to MEA President Paula Herbart regarding today’s extension of the Stay Home, Stay Safe order through April 30:
“MEA supports Gov. Whitmer’s efforts to listen to public health experts and to take the necessary steps to address the coronavirus outbreak. That includes both her decision last week to close schools for in-person learning for the rest of this school year and, now, the extension of the Stay Home, Stay Safe order. We owe it to all essential workers – from our front line medical professionals to the dedicated school employees working to keep students safe and fed – to do our part by staying home and slowing the spread of this virus.
